Osteoarthritis Restoration Program

A Modern, Research-Backed System for Knee & Hip OA Relief

Most people with osteoarthritis are told the same thing:
“Try injections, take pain meds, wait until your joint is bad enough for surgery.”

That outdated approach misses the reality that:

  • Knee OA responds extremely well to electrical dry needling, strength training, and BFR

  • Hip OA responds best to manual therapy and dry needling (Grade A evidence)

  • Movement, load, nutrition and targeted treatment restore joint function faster than passive approaches

At OneStop Osteopractic, we use a three-pillar system that is completely unique to our practice.

PILLAR 1 — Restore Motion & Calm Irritation

Before strength comes back, the joint needs to move well and calm down.

For Knee OA:

  • Electrical dry needling (supported by multiple 2023–2024 studies for rapid pain and quad activation)

  • Joint decompression techniques

  • Soft tissue release to reduce patellofemoral compression

  • Early BFR for pain-free muscle activation

For Hip OA:

  • Manual therapy (Grade A) for mobility restoration

  • Dry needling (Grade A) for deep hip stabilizers

  • Long-axis traction + rotational mobilization

  • Mobility sequencing to reduce joint stiffness

Outcome:
Less pain, improved movement, easier walking, better tolerance to daily tasks.

PILLAR 2 — Rebuild Strength, Stability & Load Tolerance

Once motion returns, strength and control determine long-term success.

Knee OA:

  • Progressive BFR strength training for quads & glutes

  • Squat, step-down, and walking pattern correction

  • Tendon-loading strategies to improve resilience

Hip OA:

  • Glute med/min strengthening

  • Rotational control training

  • Gait mechanics and balance work

  • Functional mobility training

Outcome:
Better load tolerance, improved walking speed, more confident stairs/squats, fewer flare-ups.

PILLAR 3 — Reinforce Long-Term Joint Health

This is where patients stop chasing pain and start building longevity.

  • Monthly or periodic “re-align and recharge” sessions

  • Dry needling or manual therapy tuneups

  • Updated home program progressions

  • Longevity-focused mobility and strength plans

  • Joint-specific strategies for flare-up prevention

Outcome:
Sustained mobility, better aging, active lifestyle, minimized symptoms.

Evidence That Backs Our Approach

Knee OA

  • Electrical Dry Needling (2023): Improved pain, function, and quad activation vs. exercise alone.

  • Dry Needling + Exercise (2024): Faster symptom reduction and better walking tolerance than exercise-only rehab.

  • BFR Strengthening (2023–2024): Significantly increases quad strength with low joint stress — ideal for OA.

Hip OA

  • 2024 CPGs – Grade A: Manual therapy and dry needling recommended as top interventions for hip OA.

  • Hip Manual Therapy Trials (2022–2023): Improved mobility, pain, and daily function vs. sham or no treatment.

WHAT MOST PATIENTS EXPERIENCE

Within 2–6 visits:

  • Less pain

  • More motion

  • Better strength

  • Easier walking and stairs
